The server in mention was our dev server and therefore required a large number of Vhosts but could get away with one pool. And as our production hosting is with Amazon and Azure we tend to prefer smaller dedicated instances to larger shared ones, so I haven't specifically dealt with multiple pools and users. However I would guess that you could have multiple FilesMatch directives, one for every pool (eg, if you want to share a pool across a few sites), each matching one or more file paths. Or alternatively you could have one for each vhost but all in one file, if you prefer manage them all in one place. I'd be quite interested to hear how you get on!

Re: Apache2 + PHP5-FPM index.php woes

Oh boy, this is going to make life much easier! However, won't adding the directive once mean php5-fpm will be running from one pool, as one user? Or is there some other magic going on to run each site under a separate user, helping security?

Re: Windows Phone System Tray Tricks

thanks, Helpful Info ..

Re: Windows Phone System Tray Tricks

Yep, that is easy to achieve using the technique above. As soon as you set the opacity of the system tray to anything below 1 it no longer takes up any space on the page. So you can set a background image on the page, or place an image at the top left that will show behind the system tray.

Note that the system tray also has vital information for the user when they tap it (or swipe down from the top, or side in landscape). So please test this on your app and make sure that whatever colours or textures you have behind the system tray don't make it difficult to read the white text. If it does then the user will have to quit your app to read them properly (because if you need to read them it's usually urgent), and you want to give your users as few reasons to quit your app as possible.

Re: Windows Phone System Tray Tricks

Hi Nik,

Do you know how the foursquare app manages to get texture behind the systemtray? As Lord Vampire mentioned above, this will be because your project is targeting Windows Phone 7.0 (pre-Mango) rather than 7.1. The new features were enabled in the 7.1 SDK.

If this is an existing project then you can upgrade it as listed here (make sure you have the latest SDK installed): http://msdn.microsoft.com/e...

Otherwise you could create a new project and select 'Windows Phone OS 7.1' as the target.

Hope that helps!
- N

Re: Windows Phone System Tray Tricks

Use 7.1 project version.

Re: Windows Phone System Tray Tricks

Hi!
